Job description

  1.   Basic misión of the position:

Promote the development of knowledge, skills and moral values in students in a progressive manner during the process of teaching, according to the rules and procedures established by PUNTACANA International School.

 

             2.  Main duties and responsabilities:

  1. Meet the objective of the curriculum for your level.
  2. Develop an annual and weekly plan according to the needs of students and the academic goals of the subjects.
  3. Performing the learning process according to the Lesson Plan, using different strategies, resources and audiovisual materials.
  4. Driving your duties and professional conduct according to the Teacher’s Manual.
  5. Maintain communication with students in the language of instruction (English, Spanish or French).
  6. Develop skills and abilities through teaching different content.
  7. Assess students according to school guidelines (diagnosed, weekly, monthly, quarterly, etc.) through various instruments.
  8. Keep organized academic record with updated information of the learning process of the students, as well as keep the coordinator informed about students and their learning process.
  9. Comply with the policies and procedures established by the process.
  10. Perform other duties related and complementary to the position

Desired Skills and Experience

-Degree in Education and / or Teacher Certification.

-3 years of experience as ESLTeacher.

-English native.

-Spanish Intermediate Preferably.

The Board of Advisors assists the Director and school leaders, providing guidance on key issues. It advises the school in shaping its goals, strategies and priorities. It frames the basic direction of the school, and monitors the implementation of strategic plans. As the 2015 school year draws to a close  in Punta Cana, Santiago Garmendia makes plans for La Música Punta Cana! He is the music scholar in residence for Grupo Punta Cana and the Fundación Ecología at the Punta Cana International School.

First on the list is crowdfunding, to raise the $10,000 needed for instruments and then undertake the

$50,000 budget to purchase all the instruments for his youth symphony!

He is off to Brazil for the summer to assist with the Youth Orchestra.
